The Legendary Pink Dots

2002.10.12 @ North Star (27th & Poplar - Philly, PA)

This show was awesome. Origami Galaktika, opened up with some sonic spook sounds - elevated with distortion and feedback.

LPD Came out and played the following:

9. Mandolin (Lisa Goes Surfing) (lpd unplugged !)

When Edward was introducing Mandolin, he reffered to it as being like MTVs unplugged, that all the power could go out, the world could catch fire, and they would still be able to play their instruments. Someone in the crowd yelled "the Backstreet Boys," as an MTV reference. Edward let him know that "they are on next."

After the short departure from the stage, upon returning, Ka'Spell announced "The Backstreet boys will now be playing ISIS." (btw: I think he said, "I'm always on your side" instead of ISIS, btw again: this is one of my favorites@!!! )

It's difficult to explain (and it may have been the drinks), but the LPD intimidation through staring was somewhat levied and people seemed to have alot more fun than usual. I know I did.
