New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia Radio
Echoes can be found on your local PRI at different times. In Philly, that's WXPN 88.5 between 11pm-1am.
Liquid.Sound.Lounge on 99.5 @ Sat (6-9) is an awesome groove-music show. Outside of these hours the station mostly does the NPR thing, which is a good thing when I drive into Princeton and lose the Phili feeds to the New York ones.
WHYY is where I get my morning dose of NPR. I don't think they do the switch over to funky jams or techno like most news stations do, but they are still cool.
Princeton Radio @ 103.3 is always good. If you catch them at the right time you can hear some interesting experimental music.. In the mornings they play classical stuff, afternoons jazz (and on weekends), and after 5 comes the noise :) . Also, after hours they play some really awesome trance type stuff. Don't take my word though - listen here.
Seton Hall, Pirate Radio (89.5) plays punk, hard core, and heavy heavy metal. Guaranteed to wake you up!!
Trenton State, WTSR @ 91.3 is definately odd. A good source for college rock that you might not otherwise get exposed to.
... Net based Radio
check out the noise on Sick Tracks, a lot of different stuff is featured there -- but mostly hard house/ambiant trance.
(most) recently, i have been listening to dirtyradio. which i found from my underworld link below. It ranges for down-tempo grooves to upbeat techno. (stuff like underworld, aphex twin, radiohead, kraftwerk, etc..) They'll even through in some ska/punk to throw you off (like The Specials).
Check out
SomaFM.com, IceCast, and ShoutCast for some groovy diversity. They are all really nice streaming audio sites.
...note to self... gabber.org, and scratch.dk
Local rock Scene
The Barn, in Bensalem, PA, hosts live local rock cover bands, every friday and saturday night. Recently, Froggy Style has been warming up the place with their freudian slipped mis-lyrics. LGS is also worth checking out, they have their own material which you can find on their website.
