Better than you

I am one to state for the benefit of all people, that no one is better than anyone else. From the universal point of view this is true. No one role is more important than another. Importance in this case is measured by the number and scale of effects for which you have been the cause. No one can really break past that whole miniscule_number/infinity problem. The best way to do this would be to destroy the existence of the universe from a pre-time setting, or to be the creator of the universe, but alas I fear that may be out of our realm of control.

However, in all things worldly, and in social blendings, things taken in the course of a lifetime, from a humanist point of view, this thought of all people being equal, with none being better, is a potential defeater. With this sort of belief, a person may find themselves content with their own skills and talents, finding that to excel beyond this would somehow be greedy, egotistical, or irreverent.

Let us assume that all people have an unlimited amount of potential. The choice by others not to fulfill this potential is simply that, a choice. This should not be cause to limit one's own perception of attainable goals.

Suppose my expertise encompasses the fields of this, that and some thing else. Person X, may have equal qualities in this and that, and furthermore be a good candidate for handling 'the other thing' well. This should not sustain in me a desire not to excel at this, that, the other thing, and something else. There should be no reason for me to assume that we are somehow equal because I have these things which I do well, and he has those things. To fulfill ones own potential, which I declare to be equally unlimited for all people, is a freedom that should not be hindered by worries of superiority.

From a lazy spiritual point of view, this might be seen as cheating. "Why is that soul trying to show off?" That spirit should be asking, rather, "why am I not furthering my human existence?" The only limiting factor, then, is will. Spiritual will equates to human endeavor.

But let's not get critical over this, after all, life is just a game. In any game with trillions of participants there are bound to be those who don't want to play, or those that don't care about the outcome.

Wait a second, what about the animals? Perhaps, from a spirit's view, the predetermination to exact minimal effort manifests itself physically as a critter that will have minimal effect for humanity (all things, however, have some effect).

Do the souls then decide after one life that the next life will be an easy-going one for them? Can it been seen in a straight time line? Perhaps the nature of spiritual will is more like that of hot spots on the sun. There are currents and trends of flow, with one substance of one source, within which these expressions flare or cool depending on the particual placement and time. Placement and time then could be seen as the reality known by us, the humans, and the flares could be seen as those actions of global consequence, and those characters with the greatest impact.
